Because no one's forcing you to read it, that's why.

I'm mad at the world because last year, I got suspended for writing a two-sentence suicide note and sent it from someone's yahoo mail account who forgot to log out on a library computer. This put me about a week and a half behind on my project, a digital supplement to the school yearbook on CD. I was left with about a week and a few days to finish a lot of work. I stayed at school far after we were dismissed working on the project. On the last day, my teacher attended a meeting and allowed me to stay and finish the project. While he was gone I reached a point of near completion, requiring only the advisor/teacher's final evaluations and corrections, which would probably require an hour or two, very little time considering the fact I had devoted virtually my entire year to this, what I considered possibly my life's greatest achievement.
My principal wandered into the room and told me, "Hey! School's over, and it's inappropriate for you to be here." So I had to go home at 6PM the last day of school.
The next morning, I came in to finish. My teacher was there, supervision was no longer an issue. He had the time to spare and the intention to finish this sumbitch. The principal called the advisor to her office where they had a little chat. The principal was well informed of the situation and consequences of two outcomes. She chose the least favorable, in my opinion. My teacher returned to the room and informed me my presence was desired in the principal's office.
There, I was told many things, most of it in bullshit form. What I walked away with was the impression that because of my disciplinary issue, it was innapropriate for me to use the computer alone last night. As for why I was being asked to leave that morning, I didn't quite understand the motivations behind that. I had routinely worked in the school when it was not in session, i.e. weekends, inservices, vacations and holidays. Anyway, long story short, no CD, and she knew that was exactly what would happen. I was now responsible for the hundred, probably thousand-dollar venture that I was immensely proud of. It included new content, audio video and photo, and it had several very high quality sections. And it now did not exist, because it was not completed and sent to the manufacturing plant. I no longer had access to it, as the computer was required to be packed away in preparation for the move to the newly constructed section of school this year.
That's why I'm a bitter, cynical asshole.
